Home > Our Practice JAMES A. SIMON, MD, CCD, FACOG Dr. Simon is Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. Dr. Simon’s research has been supported by more than 135 research grants, contracts and scholarships from a wide range of sponsors (NIH, AHA, pharmaceutical industry, etc.) He is a past president of the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) and of the Washington Gynecological Society, and currently sit on the Board of Directors of the International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD). Dr. Simon has been selected to “Top Washington Physicians,” “America’s Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists”, and “The Best Doctors in America.” He is an author or co-author on more than 160 articles, chapters, and proceedings, including several prize-winning papers, and the paperback book: Restore Yourself: A Woman’s Guide to Reviving Her Sexual Desire and Passion for Life.
Lucy Davies Treene is a Certified Physician Assistant who was been working in gynecology and infertility for over 14 years. Her special interest and expertise is in the diagnosis and treatment of women with vulvodynia and vulvar vestibulitis syndrome. These complicated conditions are chararacterized by chronic vulvar pain and burning, frequently accompanied by pain with intercourse. She received her Master of Science in Health Sciences from George Washington University Medical School and her P.A. Certification in 1999. She has practiced as a P. A. with Dr. James Simon for 10 years. She is a co-author, with Dr. Sandra M. Hurtado and Dr. Stanley C. Marinoff, of Effectiveness of Interferon Therapy for the Treatment of Vulvar Vestibulitis, International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease, XVth World congress, September 26-30, 1999. While completing her complete training, she worked under Dr. Marinoff at his Center for Vulvovaginal Disorders.
NURSE PRACTITIONER CERTIFIED DENSITOMETRY TECHNICIAN Pat joined the staff in January 2004 and originally split her time between Dr. Simon’s Washington, DC office and his Women’s Health Research Center in Laurel, MD until the Center closed in late 2005. She is certified by NCC as a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner and by NAMS as a Menopause Clinician. Pat brings over 26 years of experience in the nursing field. She received her MS from the University of MD in Baltimore, MD in 1990. Her clinical experience has largely been women’s health based and has ranged from inner city clinics to home care to private practices. Her current roles in our practice include general gynecology, menopause management, and clinical research management. |
